Throughout October, Rock Hall Elementary, a designated Community School under the state's Blueprint for Maryland's Future, sought the sock donations. Families and community members responded by donating nearly 1,100 pairs to the Sock-tober drive to help those in need.

Town, county and school officials joined together at Galena Elementary School to cut the ribbon on a new walking trail Friday, Oct. 14. The students and staff of Galena Elementary School participated in the celebration, joining in on a walk of the entire trail.
