KCPS 2022-23 Virtual Instruction Day Plan
KCPS Virtual Day Plan 2022-23

ROCK HALL — The Maryland State Department of Education opened a pathway for school systems to repurpose certain days as virtual instruction days in the 2022-2023 school year.

Kent County Public Schools will have the opportunity to use a total of eight virtual days. No more than three days may be used as asynchronous.

Kent County Public Schools administrators, in collaboration with teachers and staff, have developed a plan to ensure meaningful and equitable virtual instruction.

Inclement weather days such as snow days, professional learning days and high school graduation days are part of the proposed plan.

KCPS Proposed Plan:
• Snow Day Plan (two snow days before moving to synchronous with live instruction on Schoology Snow Day)
• Graduation (one asynchronous day)
• Other inclement weather considerations

A summary of the plan, as presented to the Kent County Board of Education Monday, July 18, is available for download below.
