Workshop to focus on special education

CHESTERTOWN — Join the Kent County Public Schools Family Support Resource Center for a free workshop on special education.

"Navigating the World of Special Education" will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28 in the media center at Kent County Middle School in Chestertown.

Free dinner and childcare will be available.

Attendees will meet the different members of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team and learn how to work with them to support their children's educational journey.

IEP teams include general education teachers, special education teachers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech and language pathologists and school-based psychologists.  

Presentations will cover the assessment process. Parents will learn their role in this process and how they can help their children.
