Our hearts and prayers go out to the families, faculty and staff of Antioch High School in Tennessee. The report of a shooting at the school Wednesday, Jan. 22 is heartbreaking. Our counseling team, teachers and staff are available to talk to our students who need support at this time. We continue to ask our community to support safety in our schools. If you see something, say something. You can call our schools or report tips anonymously through Kent County Public Schools’ mobile app. The app also sends out push notifications to provide information and instructions if there is an incident. The Kent County Board of Education has five elected members, each serving four-year terms, and a student member from Kent County High School selected to serve for a one-year term. The Board of Education regularly meets on the second Monday of the month at the Kent County Public Schools Central Office, 5608 Boundary Ave., Rock Hall.

Meeting Information

The next regularly scheduled monthly meeting of the Board of Education of Kent County will be held on Monday, Feb. 10, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Open session will be immediately followed by the Board Members going into closed session. The open session for the public will resume at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be located at the Kent County Public Schools Administrative Building in the Board Room, 5608 Boundary Ave., Rock Hall.

Ethics Panel and Policy

The Ethics Panel is charged with receiving and maintaining documents such as financial disclosure forms, providing advisory opinions and reviewing alleged ethics violations.
 
Three members comprise the Ethics Panel in accordance with Kent County Board of Education policy.
 
Members must be residents of Kent County. Membership restrictions include current Board of Education members and school officials, employees and their spouses.
 
Appointments to the Ethics Panel are confirmed by the Board of Education.
 
Ethics Panel members are appointed to three-year terms. Members are eligible for reappointment.
